Spouse Visas
There are a number of different
spouse visa classes and subclasses that those considering
a spouse visa may be eligible for.
Each Spouse Visa application
requires substantial supporting documentation in addition
to the DIMIA (Department of Immigration Multicultural and
Indigenous Affairs) forms that must be submitted.
It is not sufficient for spouse
visa applicants to simply think that because they are married
or in a genuine spousal relationship that DIMIA will automatically
grant a visa. DIMIA has very strict guidelines as to types
of evidence that they must see to convince them as to the
genuineness and continuity of a relationship.
If you are;
· in a defacto spouse (living together for more than
twelve months) relationship with an Australian permanent resident
or citizen
· are intending to marry or have married an Australian
citizen
· are an Australian permanent resident or citizen in
a relationship with a partner of a nationality
